I think we're hearing similar stories from users all over the world. Or maybe I put it down for a second, make some dinner, come back, grab it. But, at least when we were playing it at home when we first started getting our test units, just having the ability to play something on your couch, or around the house, or whatever. Even the foes you encounter and the cards that are drawn are different every time. At the moment there are three characters each of which has their own unique set of cards and fighting style. The game is procedurally generated meaning no one game is the same. You have to battle your way to the top of a spire by utilising a whole host of magic spells and abilities in your deck. With so much work having gone into the modding side of the game by eager fans, it is no surprise that full mod support was going to arrive sooner or later.įor those of you who don’t know what Slay the Spire is, it is a single player deckbuilder game which encompasses a lot of roguelike elements. Of course, there are also mods which unlock all everything or make the game easier/harder. There are currently 41 mods listed in the workshop and they range anywhere from new characters, such as The Disciple, The Slimebound and The Mystic, to extra cards for your deck. This is happening just in time as the early access phase is coming to an end on January 23rd when the game will go on general release. Slay the Spire has been around in early access for quite some time now and, in that time, it has received thousands of positive reviews and praise so it is unsurprising why fans are so excited about today’s launch of Steam Workshop functionality.
